Explore our Hoosier Courts Classrooms

Toddler/Twos

OPENING AUGUST 2026

  • Ages: 12 months (and walking) to 3 years
  • Group size: Up to 10
  • Staff to child ratio: 1:5

Our goal is to provide an environment that supports and nurtures development in all areas, including cognitive, emotional, language, physical, self-help, and social skills. Children in the toddler/twos classroom spend their days engaging with a variety of materials that encourage their curiosity, creativity, movement, communication, and more. In addition to our indoor Toddler/Twos classroom, our dedicated Toddler/Twos outdoor space offers endless opportunities to explore. Materials are rotated frequently to support the changing physical and cognitive needs of children. Our responsive and caring teachers give an abundance of love and support in order to encourage positive social and emotional development.

Our multi-age classrooms provide continuity as children stay in the same classroom with their teachers from age 3 to when children leave for kindergarten. Our preschool rooms are designed to accommodate the wide range of stages and abilities of 3- to 5-year-olds. Both of our preschool classrooms include open-ended materials that are rotated to reflect children's current interests and encourage curiosity, creativity, communication, and teamwork in a play-based environment. Our teachers make each child feel valued and respected for their unique abilities and skills.

Outdoors as an Extension of the Classroom

Each of the three classrooms at Hoosier Courts has a playground that is located just outside the door of their rooms. Consequently, we can post some adults indoors and others outdoors, and the children can move freely back and forth throughout the majority of the day. As such, the outdoors is very much an extension of the classroom. While outside, children can paint a picture, build with blocks, tend the garden, or learn about the insects they find. All this can take place along with the more traditional outdoor activities such as riding tricycles, climbing, and playing tag.
